I decided to re-make my Shia (demon) costume for Animania 2006 (Melbourne) and I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself! Lots of small things that could be improved, but I do not plan on redoing it again! XD One redo is enough for me thanks!

I’ve uploaded an Animania 2006 report & photos, and all the new photos taken of my Shia costume, click the photo to see all~ Seriously, Nyaa MAKES most of those photos, I cracked up when I saw the photo of me and Nyaa sitting together on the bench! It’s his crook eye!!! I keep fixing it, and it keeps twisting! XDDD Photos would not be half as good if Nyaa wasn’t in them, he ROCKS! XDD *cuddles Nyaa*

So the “Gothic Lolita” (I know, I’m so creative with names) was the result of two late nights of sewing @_@ All the pinning of lace made my fingers raw-ish >_< I had no idea original designs are sooooo much fun! So I’m planning many many more now, its great being able to choose your own colours and details as you go along My plan is to either alter this, or make a new much more gothic-y (less cute) costume and do a photoshoot at a graveyard… well, not sure if I’ll have the guts to go to a graveyard for photo-purposes, but we’ll see! Maybe an old church or something? *heee*

After Sefie mentioned a place called “Angelic Pretty”, I was curious and went online to see what it was~ Omgosh! The cutest dresses ever!! Gave me so many new ideas to use on my own dresses, I’ll be in Loli-land for the next few years I reckon XD;; What an inspirational site~~~ Ah, with extra work money coming in, the smart side of me says, “Save your money”, the fun side says, “Spend it on cosplay materials”, and a completely weird side of me says, “Go buy gym membership!” *heee*

So Minifest 2006 was today, and it was sooo much smaller than I thought it would be *_* Tons! Too bad it seemed things started slow because we got there 10am and there wasn’t much to do cept sit around and actually *shock horror* talk about Java with Toby @_@;; His nerd-tendencies are growing on me :O!!

Anyways, as you can see, new costume for me! Shidou Hikaru’s school uniform! I made it because I both had the spare materials and already made wig lying around, plus it was a simple job. Last minute costumes save me! XD I’m really happy with how it turned out, safe for overly dyed socks and unstyled wig ;_;

I also got to see Sefie’s V-day dress in person, sooooooo cute! *_* And Shi’s award winning gorgeous costume (omgosh, so glad to finally meet you, you’re soooo photogenic and sweet *_* ) Watched A-chan and Ashama work their magic infront of the camera XD I’ve never had a chance to talk to Ashama before, but I finally did and she is the sweetest thing! I can’t believe how nice all the new people I met were! *^^* Didn’t get a huge chance to talk to Nic or A-chan, Nic seemed to be good at disappearing (ninja-style) and A-chan was easily distracted, but in the most adorable way ever! D!! Yeah~ I also got to meet a really sweet girl called Cat/Kat too~ So good that she came to talk, because I’m the shyest thing on earth and have the tendency to *stare stare stare* wishing I could just GO UP and make new friends! *weep*

Must find LJs of Ashama and Cat/Kat soon, anyone know them? I love making new friends

So~~ I actually only had a good time BECAUSE of the people I met! Minifest was kinda small and boring, but the people there were awesome! Sucks having to leave so early You guys rock~ <3 And if I missed out on anyone, it’s cause I’m sleepy right now *_* But it was still great to meet you! ^_____^

This was also the other reason I got sunburnt @_@; So yeah, I can’t sleep probably at the moment without my arms hurting :_: But at least I got nice cosplay photos! ;; See my logic? XD;;

Head over to Extreme Motion for the entire gallery! I will say that the wig was pain, pure pain! I made and sewed the ponytail on, had to dye it and eventually braid it which was hell because it was a tangled mess @_@; Wigs always seem to be the hardest part for me *_*

Now that I have time, I can babble on about everything that happened! XD Don’t let these photos fool it, it was incredibly windy and hot yesterday @_@; About 70% of the photos are of me almost falling asleep or looking really annoyed thanks to the sun and melting weather >_< Bad day for photo shoot! BAD!

We went to Uni to take some of the photos (so the background might look familiar to some of you), and it was strange @_@; Getting so many stares, and the same people would walk back and forth to get a better look! I was so nervous, I really didn’t want to go to Uni, but I really wanted nice photos too~ Ahh, the sacrifices cosplayers make @_@;

One thing that really bothers me about this costume is my wig! I don’t think it was styled very well >_< It needs to be longer at the back, with more shape~ So I’m either going to have to sew wefts into it (which I am dreading because I’ve already done that for another costume you’ll see later and it was pure PAIN!) or get a new wig altogether. I’m kinda reluctant, because as you already know I’ve dyed this wig, and cut it and styled it and basically butchered it into the product you see. Took a lot of time and work @_@; (Glad I’m not a hair dresser, but I have new respect for them!)

But yeah, I think I’ll try and get a new wig or something for any future Ami projects, this one annoys me a little too much

Yes, finally! @_@; I was all cosplay talk, not enough cosplay action! So here is some action~ ^_^ Click on the above photo to see the rest of the photos that were good enough to upload~ I also did another photo shoot for a second costume, which I will upload tomorrow since it’s getting late and took me long enough just to do this set @_@;

I hate how when I look at these photos, all I can see are the flaws and all the things I must change next time etc etc~ But in my defense, it was my first out-of-convention photo shoot, plus I’m no model! So it’s okay to suck! XD; Bless Toby and his awesome photography skills~! *^^*

No one knew Flipper was Shia from Pita-ten! They all thought she was some Gothic Lolita girl, which is cool! *hehe* Flipper was planning on doing a proper EGL suit, but since everyone thinks this was it, that’s one less costume to worry about! *killing two birds with one stone*

Wow, Flipper is so glad Manifest is over *_* She’s both sad, happy and feel a little :/ now.

Sad cause she didn’t get to see most of her friends! ;_; Some she couldn’t find but most didn’t come~ *tears* Cons are just never the same if you’re friends aren’t there to be stupid and silly with you At least for Saturday she was able to drag along a few Uni friends to make the environment a little better! ^_^

But goodness, the last week has pretty much been stress/hell for her! She thought at the start of the week things would go great, till the last two days when Flipper found herself staying up till 2am or more in the morning trying ot finish her costumes off, plus work out stuff to take note of for reports and such @_@ Aww man!

So judging! Judging is so. freaking. cool! Sure, it’s all STRESS when it comes to tallying the scores, but seriously! This is such a cool job!! Flipper really hope they’ll have her back next year cause it’s so much fun! XD Plus we get free food :9 Oh yeah, what some people won’t do to win the comp! ^_~ Sefie, you were fantastic! I’m still amazed at your composure!

And only this week Flipper came to the painful realisation that she would seriously suck at doing commissions. While mainly aimed at Caloris, this goes for all those other sweet people who mentioned it in breifing to me too. Seriously, this costume thing is WAY too draining and the only reason I get my own stuff done is the anticipation of being able to wear it later! She just doesn’t have the will power to make clothes for people other than close friends or her @_@……….. unless you pay her like $1000 for one costume! >:D Then she would surly reconsider your proposal! So yeah, but Cal don’t stress! Did you see how many freaking talented people there were at Manifest? So sure one of them would commission stuff for you, for sure!

Umm what else? Okay, will be uploading lots of things like photos and reports, and updating websites once Flipper catches up on her sleep! XD Toby literally ate food and just passed out! Poor guy is so exhausted, but he was the best this year! Took all my photos for me, helped Flipper out SO much, above and beyond! Much love to you Toby!! <3 <3 <3

Oh, she’s hoping to do a mini-photoshoot with Toby this week to show you guys what her Friday costume was suppose to be! It’s so simple compared to the two you’ve seen, but she’s finished it and just wants pictures!! XD

But yes! Can finally get back to living the normal life again! Yep, not touching anything cosplay related till after exams! Need to cram so bad now >_<
